List 10 songs that you are loving right now

List 10 songs that you are loving right now
List 10 songs that you are loving right now

This is actually a difficult one.  It may seem simple to anyone who is into the habit of listening to music. But I am far away from the usual means of entertainment.

Since few years my means of entertainment is limited to reading, writing or crafting.

So, the moment I read about today's prompt, I got a little disappointed. I am not listening to any songs as of now. Though during the weekends, I did listen to 2 songs. Therefore, I am catching on the anxiety of the task of listing 10 songs.

Never mind, I will list the last 10 songs that I recall being my favorites.

nevertheless, I am on it. I am on my task of listing 10 songs that I am loving right now.

So, here is the list as follows:

  1. Tung Tung from the movie Singh is Bling
  2. Challa song of Gurdass Mann
  3. Chul song by some Punjabi artist
  4. I am friends with the monster by Rihanna
  5. Animals by some English artist
  6. A french song starting with B
  7. Some latest song of Justin Bieber
  8. I remember the video - an old man in a room doing some fantasy stuff and some house trance number playing at the backdrop (don't recall the song)
  9. Ordinary Love, the one on Nelson Mandela
  10. Your Chin by an Indian origin boy
P.S 1:   I first listed the songs, then went on to find their credentials. Not sure if you will fancy these.

Five ways to win your heart

Five ways to win your heart
Five ways to win your heart

Whosoever knows me well, would know one thing about me for sure . That that it is quite easy to win my heart. I do not wish for anything grand or expensive. Just give me best of all Worlds, and I am happy. I know this sounds a joke and is a joke!
On a rather serious note, I do like to get won over by stuff. To be frank, I never gave a conscious thought to it. But this post makes me think of them right now. So, I come up with a random list of 5 ways to win my heart.
    1. Simplicity and purity at heart
    2. Independent and confident attitude
    3. A well read and traveled personality
    4. An appetite and know how of cuisines and culture
    5. Chivalry and masculinity
I am not sure if this list sounds like much. But I know that it compiles all that can win me over.

Over the years, I have found people who have had one or more of the listed qualities in them. But having all together in one person has been a discovery for me till now.

I will be glad to find someone who has all or even 4 of the above qualities in them.

Moreover, just now I got an after-thought to this post. I guess this post was more towards listing things to win my heart. By that I suppose they meant listing stuff like gifting me flowers and chocolates. Or taking me to a beach or even a World tour.

But I believe that I am way past the phase of being acted upon to be happy. I mean I have more or less graduated the art of being happy.
At this stage of my life an act of something good in someone else is enough to make me happy. It may sound complicated or even unheard of. But believe me reading about some random acts of kindness in a news piece is more than enough to make my day.

So, yes if I get to know those 5 listed things in any one anywhere, I will be gleaming with happiness.

List 5 places you want to visit

LIST 5 PLACES YOU WANT TO VISIT
List 5 places you want to visit

There is nothing like travelling. It works as a self-healing technique for me. It surprises me how I am able to put my mind at rest with travel.
It rejuvenates me from within. Over the years, I have traveled to quite a many geographies. Thanks to my father being a defence personnel, I never knew any permanent address. So, that added a lot many Indian locales in my traveling itinerary.
Since the time I have gained financial independence, I have traveled a lot more. I explored few of the international as well as the domestic neighborhoods all by myself. I visited places like Switzerland, Tarkarli and Castle Rock which were on my radar since a long time.
As anyone who is smitten by the wanderlust will admit, the lust for travel never satiates.... Tweet This
On that note, I compile a list of 5 places that I wish to visit sometime in near future.
  1. Beaches in Diu
  2. Karwar in Karnataka
  3. Vietnam locales
  4. Kaas plateau
  5. Chiang Mai
All the places listed above have an emotional connect attached to them. #2 and #3 I wanted to visit with my late father when he was not late. So, since then it has been on my agenda to fulfill visiting those 2 places. I am not sure if I will be able to handle the emotional outburst that might pent up being there. But I still would want to accomplish visiting those places as a way of being close to my father's soul.
Not sure when, but I do wish to visit all the 5 places listed.
Do you travel often? Or do you wish to travel, then why not

Write about someone who inspires you

I was Matron of Honor in my friend's 1940's-inspired wedding this afternoon. Had fun with my hair and makeup!
Posted by Rebecca May Willison Spencer on Sunday, 20 September 2015

I have lived for a long time on this Earth. I am not sure what is my current age. It is because I actually stopped counting my birthdays since I crossed 30.
All these years I have met a lot many people. Some of them have had an impression on me. Some of those were good, others not so good. While a lot many of them were just plain awful.
A lot many people inspired me during my learning years of life. Though it is unfortunate to recount that today I do not even waste a second look on those beings. Those then inspiring people turned out to be a mere cracks in the subsequent events of time.
So, to put numbers to the someone who inspires me has been zilch since a long time.
But I am glad to mention here that just a few days back I found someone who managed to inspire me.
This is a beautiful lady named Rebecca Spencer who lives in Ohio. She became an acquaintance about 6-7 years ago through my handmadeselling.
Over the years we have not interacted, but I get to know her through Facebook feeds.
She is a porcelain artist and runs her cute vintage etsy shop
All this while, she was just a Facebook acquaintance for me, but her recent posts made me all in awe of her.
The lady has just discovered that she is suffering from Leukemia ! Adding to her woes is a fact that her mother also suffers from a certain cancer.
Moreover, as far as I recall, she also lost someone near and dear to her in a car crash.
But all this does not weigh down her strong individual self. She continues to share her attempts of fighting the dreadly disease on facebook. Though she continues to share art updates as well along with her daily life updates.
To my amazement, she also created a Pinterest board on Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. There she pins all the stuff related to the disease.
I mean who does this kind of stuff. I know if I ever get to be in her position, I too would have done something similar. But to do all this with so much grace and beauty is not my cup of tea.
I am in complete awe of this woman since last couple of weeks. I am glad that I am a privileged facebook acquaintance of her.
I wish the lady a lot of happiness and love. May she stays the happiest wherever she resides.  It is exciting and inspiring to find such strong souls around.
Lady Spencer, you are the someone who inspires me!

P.S 1: I have posted about Rebecca without her permission, if she does not approve it, I will delete it.

What are your top 3 pet peeves

What are your top 3 pet peeves
What are your top 3 pet peeves

When it comes to the topic of pet peeves, I think enlisting just 3 is too less. There are way too many pet peeves that I can think of.
My top 3 pet peeves go as following :
  1. Hypocrisy in people
Hypocrisy is something that one only realises when they see it in others. Though most of the times people forget the times when they themselves turn hypocrites.
Most of the people criticize others for some actions that they themselves do at the first place. But they dislike it when they witness someone else doing it.
I can think of the American ways of bombing Muslim nations for this hypocrisy. The unfortunate 9/11 attacks on the Pentagon towers killed about a thousands of Americans. There was a worldwide criticism of the unfortunate incident. But American bombed and killed several in the Afghanistan and neighbourhood regions of it. This to me is a classic worldwide example of hypocrisy.
If this is not hypocrisy, what else is?
   2.   Being judgmental
Passing judgments about people is another one of my pet peeves. I do not understand how some one can even think of judging someone else. How are we as humans capable of deciding the correctness of what someone else is doing with their life. I understand if the judgments arise when someone is doing something unlawful. But judging someone for their choice of clothes, their lifestyle sound so annoying to me.
  3.    Outright Callousness
This one I have started to feel in the recent times. I get amazed to see how some people derive pleasure out of seeing someone in a frenzy. Are our lives have become so devoid of entertainment that we get fun by seeing someone else in pain?
Few people whom I thought to be a friend turned out to be mere passersby seeking fun out of the happenings in my life. It would have been still acceptable to see some stranger doing it. But seeing people with whom you have shared moments of life doing it surprises me.

This is my list of top 3 pet peeves. I would love to know What are your top 3 pet peeves.

Write something that someone told you about yourself that you never forgot

Write something that someone told you about yourself that you never forgot
Write something that someone told you about yourself that you never forgot

Being an open-hearted person is not a good thing. The conniving ones get to manipulate you quick. Though the ones who are naive misunderstand you.
Moreover, if you are courageous along with being transparent at heart, you are in for a lot of trouble.
Apart from hating you, people become opinionated about you. To make things worse, they scoff at as well. That is exactly what I have been through all my life.
Well, the fact is that I go through it all till today. Fortunately, it all does not affect me much these days.
I have learnt the art of turning a deaf ear to anything that is not good for me pretty well.
I am happy that I learnt to stay unaltered with what someone thought or opined on me. It has helped me stay calm and sane.
Though at times I do recall what all nasty things people have told me in the past. Most of them have been on my personality type. However, most of those things said have been through people who despised me. So, I did not bother much about them.
Though I admit that the few things said by people who were erstwhile friends have hurt me. The stuff they told about me was so bad that I have not yet forgotten to this day. If I were to count, it has been close to 20 years, but still I have not yet forgotten the things yet.
The stuff I was told was: "You are always in a hurry".
Till date I do not understand why that person said so. I do not recall in what context that person utter this statement. But for sure it did refer ro a failure of some task that I was doing then.
That person has since then said a lot more not so good things about me. Though fortunately, I have since then created an invisible protective barrier around me.
It all seems strange because this person gets in touch with me whenever he is stuck in life. He is never ashamed to call me for help, and at the same time never shies away from speaking ill behind my back.
But as I said before, the recent things that he or anyone has told about me do not take a mental toll on me.
But that particular statement spoke years ago did make an impression on me.
Till date I keep guessing the validity of that statement heard years back. Sometimes I feel it is true, other times I do not and end up despising that person.
Today it does not matter what emotion comes forth with that statement. But the fact remains that I was told something by someone about myself that I have not forgotten till date.

List 10 Things that make you really Happy

List 10 Things that make you really Happy
List 10 Things that make you really Happy

As long as I can recall, I have always wished to be happy. Well all of us want to happy, but it is not always we bring it to our focus. I feel most of us as most of the times diverge from the goal of being happy. Rather in the pursuit of being happy, we end up doing stuff that does not make us happy.

I do not know what goes wrong, but most of the times I feel the definition of being happy gets distorted somewhere.

Since past few days I was just wondering to take a conscious focused effort towards determining what makes me happy. I think by doing that, I could achieve the goal of being happy in my stipulated left over life time.

So, I decided to make a list of 10 stuff that makes me really HAPPY. Here it goes:
  1. Being with my family for 2 days.
  2. Eating Smoked salmon marinated with spices.
  3. Being with my Uncle and Aunt.
  4. Eating Pomfret fry.
  5. Backpacking the entire World.
  6. Spending time at a beach.
  7. Writing.
  8. Reading.
  9. Swimming.
  10. Crocheting.

So, I think this list covers more or less the stuff that makes me really happy. This list might rearrange within itself, and leave away few stuff to accommodate something new.

But till then, this is my List of 10 Things that make you really Happy.

I am curious to know what things make you happy.

And I am a winner again

I know it has been a long long time before I wrote anything here. As always I have the excuse of writing for my clients.

But today I had to be here. The reason is simple and jubilant at the same time. I have won a Twitter contest one more time.

This time it was a contest organised by the Penguin Books India.

This was a Short story contest organised by them and was judged along with the writer Ravinder Singh.

As usual, I participated in it and won it, along with 14 more winners.

The tweet that got me winning and the proof of my winning is as below:

By the way, this is the second time I have won a contest on Twitter. First one was with Lakme.

Thanks ! Thanks !
