the twisted female power

Well, two instances have been lingering on my mind for quite some time. Though out of the two, first is about 2 years old; and the other one is quite recent. Also, both the instances are from our very dear bollywood. Both may seem to be just a second long scenes of the movie or the song, but they indeed have had a huge impact on my mind. One can say that I can also relate with the instances shown or I must have been a part of them in a sense that I have also lived them up in my real life, that is what adjoins me with them. But whatever, they are a classic masterpiece.

The first one is the scene from the movie that had the "dhan tana" wala song. It had Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. Now, if any one can relate would have guessed that I must have been talking about the "....to maine kya tumahra rape kiya" ?? wala scene.  I does sound like a female liberation thingy. But if at all you have used your imagination and memories to point out that one, then I am sorry, you are wrong. I am not talking about this meant to be impact creating dialogue, but I am talking about the scene from that marriage song where Priyanka Chopra is clad in just a towel with face smeared with a face pack, sitting in front of the computer and browsing honeymoon packages on makemytrip.com. HAHA That is indeed something; you see a young female confident of herself, determined of her choices in life, struggling from everywhere to make everything in her life perfect. Though I have not seen the movie, I feel this only must have been supposed to be running on the character's mind in that 2 second scene. Her soft feminine self is wrapped in the towel, her beauty is getting enhanced with the face pack and her liberated womanism is searching for the best honeymoon package for herself and the soon-to-be husband. Well, this honeymoon searching activity has always been under the male or the elders in the family's domain. But here we see a liberated woman who wants to excel in each sphere of her life her way. Kudos to her !!!

The second movie is also unseen by me, well it is not seen by 99% of the people living on this Earth. That is because the movie "Ek mai aur ek tu"  has not released yet. I have just seen the rushes of it. But it took me to seeing the teasers in the movie hall to realise what I am about to write now. There is one scene showing  interrogation by a judiciary person where both Kareena and Imran Khan are taking a divorce, may be that is what it seems to me. And after the usual statements, they both are asked if there marriage has SEX in it?? To which Kareena replies affirmative, and Mr. Khan replies a firm NO. Then, promptly, she smiles naughtily and points towards her then husband and says, NOT WITH HIM. Wow that was something, it goes on to reflect the current times of reality and forthrightness we are going through. There have been many movies in Bollywood that would talk of a girl again falling in love, but the second time it is definitely with the good guy, who also happens to be the HERO of the movie. But the sexuality of both the couple, or at least the girl's is always depicted as virgin. For instance, movies like the one which had Kajol and Ajay Devgan (ajnabi mujhe itna bata wala song); Anjana Anjanai; or Kareena Kapoor's very own Jab We Met. It was simply meaning that though the girl did a mistake of hanging around with a wrong dude, but she never ever crossed her boundary. OMG, those are few cliches of Bollywood because of which I do not recall even their names. Even though I must have watched them umpteen number of times, considering every movies is repeatedly shown on channels these days. The happiness and honesty on Kareena's face is something that really delighted me. Cheers to such liberal and independent woman.
